Beer is truly not just for breakfast any more. It’s also for upscale food pairings in the same manner as wine.

And if you want to see (and taste) just how far brewmasters and chefs have come, then you’d better make reservations for Tuesday’s Brew and Food Pairing Dinner at Boca’s English Tap & Beer Garden (5050 Town Center Circle, 561/544-8000).

The five-course meal costs $40 per person and kicks off at 7 p.m. with beer-steamed mussels and frites with Rascal Belgian White Ale; then goes on to courses of seared ahi sliders with Victory Headwaters Pale Ale; prosciutto, gorgonzola and fig flatbreads with Terrapin Hopsecutioner IPA; grilled bangers ‘n’ mash with Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale; and finishes with mixed berry trifle with Lindeman’s Lambic mimosas.

Of course, you could always get up the next morning and pop a cold one with your Cornflakes too.

BRIO TUSCAN GRILLE CELEBRATES WINE MONTH WITH HALF OFF WINE BOTTLES ON MONDAYS IN MAY

WineMonth_EmailGraphicWEB

South Florida – May 14, 2012 – Celebrate Wine Month with South Florida BRIO Tuscan Grille (BRIO) restaurants, and enjoy half off bottles of BRIO’s exclusive Darcie Kent and Tavolo Matto wines every Monday in May.  Guests can enjoy Darcie Kent Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, and Tavolo Matto Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Rosso by the glass or bottle at BRIO locations at The Village at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, The Shops at Pembroke Gardens in Pembroke Pines, The Shops at Boca Center in Boca Raton, and at The Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens.

Darcie Kent Vineyards: These exclusive wines were envisioned specifically for the tables of BRIO by famous artist Darcie Kent. The rolling vineyards of Livermore Valley, Calif. provide not only the grapes for her Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, but an abundance of artistic inspiration as well. Darcie Kent Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic California in style with dark berry jam and mocha flavors highlighted with an oaky spice. The Darcie Kent Chardonnay emphasizes the Central Coast's crisp and vibrant Chardonnay character. It has subtle toasty oak and spice flavors. Mondays in May, both will be available for $14.50 per bottle at BRIO restaurants.

Tavolo Matto: Italian for "Crazy Table," is all about good times at the table with friends and family. These wines are crafted exclusively for BRIO by Sartori di Verona, a family winery in the Veneto region of Italy with over a century of winemaking experience. Tavolo Matto Pinot Grigio is light bodied, with an alluring tropical-fruit bouquet; ripe melon and pear flavors. The Chardonnay is light bodied, with a pleasant apple and toasty bouquet; crisp fruit and vanilla flavors. The Tavolo Matto Rosso is a Cabernet-Merlot blend with a deep red-fruit and spice bouquet; rich cherry and plum flavors. All three will be available by the bottle for only $12, every Monday in May.
